Country rock band Old Dominion recently announced plans for their Happy Endings 2018 world tour! They will kick off their time on the road in February in Canada. To open on the US dates, the group invited chart-topper Michael Ray and emerging artist Brandon Lay. As for the Canada dates, two new Canadian country groups will open: The Washboard Union and Cold Creek County.
The upcoming tour follows the release of their popular sophomore album, Happy Endings, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. The project includes recent hit singles such as “Written in the Sand” and “No Such Thing As A Broken Heart.” Old Dominion was recently nominated for an American Music Award as Favorite Duo or Group in the country category. They also received two CMA Award nominations for New Artist of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year.
The band’s lead vocalist Matthew Ramsey is excited for the upcoming year. “We are taking OD worldwide! We can’t wait to get out there and see what kind of Old Dominion fans we have around the world,” he says, according to Sony Music Nashville. “It’s amazing when we hear from our fans out there, so we couldn’t be more excited to bring our music to them face to face.”
Opener Michael Ray has recorded music written by members of Old Dominion for his upcoming sophomore album which will also be released in 2018. The “Get To You” singer says of the tour, “I am such a fan of the music these guys are writing and creating, and any time the band and I can play music with friends we’re also a fan of, it’s a good day.”
