Montgomery Gentry's 'Here’s to You' album has made quite the impact on the country music charts! More on the record's big debut here...

Country music duo Montgomery Gentry‘s last album together, Here’s to You, has hit number one on the iTunes Country Chart, number two on the Billboard Top Country Alum Chart, and number two on the Billboard Independent Album Chart.

“I think it’s a hell of an album,” Eddie Montgomery recently shared with Sounds Like Nashville. “There are different things I like about all of the songs. We started doing ‘Drink Along Song’ in our shows before we even recorded it. We did it live and we knew it was going to be a hit because as soon as soon as we started singing it by the second chorus everybody was singing it back to us. I love ‘King of the World.’ ‘Feet Back on the Ground’ is about your mama and it’s the way I feel sometimes when I go to mom’s house because she’s always cooking or something. ‘Needing A Beer’ takes me back to the nightclubs because we were always singing about the working class. People would be coming in and celebrating a promotion or they might be celebrating because they were getting divorced.”

Watch Eddie discuss the album in the following clip!

As fans well know, 50-year-old Troy Gentry was killed in a helicopter crash on September 8th in New Jersey. Here’s to You was completed just days before his tragic death.

“I tell you man, that still blows my mind that happened that day,” Eddie confessed in an interview with Taste of Country. “We were all there and it just … it wasn’t good. Your whole world is just … it changes. Everything. And there’s not a day that I don’t see it or it goes through my heart.”

In keeping with Troy’s legacy, Montgomery Gentry is currently on tour through the fall. View the dates below!

“At first I was going to sing it on my own, but then I thought, ‘You know, the guys in the band—we’ve been through everything in the last 20-25 years,’” Eddie told SiriusXM’s The Highway. “So I said, ‘You know, I might kick it off, but our guys are great singers.’ So we’ll do some of the parts here and there and let the band come up and showcase them, too.”
