On Tuesday afternoon (10/6), Miranda Lambert was honored in downtown Nashville, TN on the Music City Walk of Fame.
The much-deserving Miranda Lambert was honored yesterday (Oct 6th) in Nashville as she received a star on the Music City Walk of Fame. Lambert got very nostalgic as she reflected on the decisions she made that brought her to her iconic star.
“A little more than 10 years ago I had gotten off Nashville Star – which was what I did instead of college – and I was living in Nashville and I made my first record. I got scared and ran back home to Mama,” she said at the ceremony.
“But I moved back here this year and I have never felt so inspired. This has been my first summer off the road in years, and I wrote every day. I feel more a part of Nashville than I ever have. I feel so at home here and so happy, and I am thrilled to have my name on the Music City Walk of Fame.”
“This is such an honor. Thank you for letting me live this amazing life. I love it so much,” she concluded.
Dierks Bentley introduced Lambert, drawing laughs from the crowds as he joked he had “some stories from the road that may not be appropriate at this time, so I’m going to save them for my book and when I can make some money off them.”
Retired Grand Ole Opry executive Bud Wendell, the late country music icon Johnny Cash, musician/songwriter/producer Steve Cropper and Lambert were respectively awarded the 67th, 68th, 69th and 70th granite stars engraved with their names in the Walk of Fame Park. (Last month, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks received stars 65 and 66.)
