Miranda Lambert is a busy woman. When she isn’t traveling across the country to perform for her fans, she is running multiple businesses and helping save countless animals. So how does she unwind from all her endeavors when she is at home?
Her most current method is “pickling”!
“I got home and I made my first batch. I called it “Trying and Flying” Pickles… I’m just loving it… It turned out really great! I didn’t know I had a secret talent of pickling, they’re good pickles,” Lambert said.
Lambert said that she can remember her parents making pickles, but she had never tried it herself until now.
Pickling isn’t the first hobby the “Tin Man” singer has taken up to help relieve the stress of being a country music mega-star. A couple years ago she invented the hashtag #beerandcrayons when she revealed a Lisa Frank coloring book on her Instagram account and told her followers she was going to color herself happy.
The first picture Lambert completed was a black and white horse that resembled one of her own horses named Leiani.
Below was her next coloring project:
Outside of coloring and music, Lambert’s biggest passion is pretty well-known. Animals play a huge part in Lambert’s life, especially dogs.
“Just like music, animals have always been a part of my life. We have never been without pets. I can’t imagine how that would be. Thankfully, I’ll never have to experience that [because I’m] just like my parents, who always had an open door policy; I feel the same way about dogs and animals. If any animal needs a place, [they] can stay here.” Lambert said to Modern Dog Magazine.
“My animals totally keep me grounded. They don’t know “Miranda Lambert” they know “mom.” The first thing they want is to be fed or go outside. Even if it’s snowing and 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside on tour, I have to get up and walk them. As soon as I get off stage they are waiting to greet me. They love the person I am even if I never sing another note.” she continued in the interview.
Many of Miranda’s fans are aware of her initiative to help give shelter pets a home called the MuttNation Foundation. She also recently opened a pet adoption agency in Lindale, Texas.
Other pursuits outside of animals, pickling, coloring and music are mostly of the retail kind. Lambert recently launched her own clothing line called “Idyllwind” in collaboration with Boot Barn.
The singer and songwriter also owns her own boutique named The Pink Pistol, also located in Lindale, Texas.
How does she find the time to do it all? We have no idea, but we sure are glad she does!
