Miranda Lambert Gets Real in Redbook Interview

Country music singer Miranda Lambert recently sat down with Redbook Magazine to talk about everything from women in country music to her ideal evening.

Fans of Miranda Lambert know that she is the farthest thing from a “diva” that a country superstar can get. Her down home Texas roots run strong and she is happiest wearing a ball cap and holding a pup.

Recently, Lambert sat down with Redbook Magazine to discuss the finer things in life…such as frozen pizza. When asked about her favorite way to spend a night the “Tin Man” singer replied:

“Shark Tank and yoga pants, and I’m the happiest person. I watch Tiny House Nation on a Friday night, and I’m like, ‘This is it! Frozen pizza. Woo!'”

She also commented on the three “M’s” in her life:

“Music and mutts—pretty much all I live for are those two things. Men used to be on that list, but I cut that one out. Just kidding! It was the three M’s, and now it’s two. No, it is three: The last one is Miranda.”

Thanks @RedbookMag for talking with @wruckestrike and me!

Lambert also spoke about her industry and some of the things she wished were different. Everyone is aware of the “tomatoes” comment made by a radio DJ when referring to country music being a salad and women being the little tomatoes on top, not what the bulk of the salad was made of. Lambert is known for speaking up for women in the music industry and using her fame to help out others that are up and coming.

“It’s B.S., straight up! Carrie Underwood still struggles, and that just blows my mind because she’s got a million hits and she’s Carrie Freakin’ Underwood. I tell them at the radio stations, ‘Just play one of us; it doesn’t have to be me. Then we all win.’ I’ll fight for it until I can’t no more.”

When it comes to being in the music industry in general, Lambert also had some thoughts:

“I’m not actually a very good famous person at all. I hate cameras. I don’t love the spotlight. It was a big shocker to me that the music business is 80% business and 20% music. I was like, ‘I didn’t know I signed up for all this other stuff.'”

Lambert seems to be nailing it regardless of not being a fan of the spotlight, and we are sure glad of that! We can’t get enough of the beautiful and intelligent Miranda Lambert!
