Award-winning country music singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert is at the top of her game career-wise, but her hectic schedule doesn’t stop her from doing good for others. The thoughtful Texan recently recorded a video message for a very special fan named Tatum Schulte, who is battling a bone cancer called osteosarcoma and had her left leg amputated below the knee over a year ago.
The video message was then shared by the Team Tatum Facebook page via Tatum’s father, Travis.
“Hey Tatum! It’s Miranda Lambert,” the songbird said in the video clip. “I heard you’re a big fan and you’re a Texas girl. I just wanted to tell you hello and that my thoughts and prayers are with you, and that you’re tough and brave just like a Texas girl should be, and I’m sending you all the hugs and kisses in the world.”
Travis also posted a video of Tatum’s sweet reaction to Miranda’s heartfelt message! Her smile is everything. It’s hard not to get misty-eyed watching the fourth grader seeing the message for the first time.
We wish Tatum the best as she continues her brave battle and hope that Miranda’s message lifted her spirits!
Besides doing good deeds for other humans, Miranda Lambert is also a crusader when it comes to rescuing animals. When Hurricane Harvey devastated the Texas coast, the star along with her MuttNation Foundation crew went straight to saving animals from the aftermath of the natural disaster. Many of the dogs are now available for adoption, here are just a few cuties waiting for their forever homes in Nashville…
We know we’re rooting for the big-hearted songstress as the 2017 CMA Awards approach. Lambert leads the pack of her peers with five nominations— she scored nods in the Single and Song of the Year categories for “Tin Man,” as well as Music Video of the Year for “Vice.” The star also earned her fourth nod for Album of the Year with The Weight of These Wings, as well as an eleventh nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year.
