Country music superstar Carrie Underwood‘s husband Mike Fisher has returned to playing professional hockey after hanging up his skates and retiring in August! As reported by nhl.com, Fisher returned to the ice on Wednesday morning at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Currently, his goal is to sign a contract with the Nashville Predators before the February 26th trade deadline and return to his team.
During his seventeen seasons as a professional hockey player, Fisher has yet to clinch a Stanley Cup— maybe time away has reignited his desire to chase that dream once again.
“It’s great to be back,” Fisher shared during a press conference. “I think about the retirement. I never really thought of it as a possibility … I had the blessing from my family and my wife… it’s such a great opportunity. It’s going to be fun and some work. But I am ready for it.”
