We can certainly see why country music star Carrie Underwood fell for Mike Fisher after they met in 2008--- this video is beyond funny!

Country music artist Carrie Underwood’s husband of seven years, Mike Fisher, might just have a little too much free time now that he’s retired from playing professional hockey. The video below serves as evidence.

Flashback to the first time I met my wife. Worked like a charm

Along with the delightfully strange Instagram clip, Fisher added the caption, “Flashback to the first time I met my wife. Worked like a charm.”

He sounds like a Minion and looks like a Ty Peek-a-Boo….

In reality, Mike first met his country music hit-maker wife at a backstage meet-and-greet after one of her concerts in 2008. Their first meeting was orchestrated by the Oklahoma songbird’s bassist, Mark Childer. The two had instant chemistry, but didn’t get to meet back up until three months after their first encounter due to Carrie being based in Nashville and Mike playing for the Ottawa Senators at the time.

“I mean, can I make dating more difficult?” Underwood shared about the start of their romance on VH1’s Behind the Music. “Let’s get a hockey guy who lives in another country. Awesome.”
After juggling a long-distance relationship over the phone, the pair finally shared their first kiss on New Year’s Eve as the ball dropped in Times Square at midnight. What a way to kick off a new year!
The couple got engaged on December 20, 2009 and got hitched July 10, 2010 at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge- Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia with over 250 guests witnessing the event.

On February 27, 2015 the happy couple welcomed Isaiah Michael Fisher into the world.

Besides that silly video, it turns out that Mike’s Instagram account is surprisingly hilarious. Check out this collection of gems!

So what has Mike Fisher really been up to since retiring from the NHL after seventeen seasons? Well, he certainly hasn’t just been sitting around his house making humorous social media posts— he’s been spending quality time with his family, hunting, fishing, and visiting the island nation of Haiti to help vulnerable children in need.

Currently Mike is a director on the board for Danita’s Children, which provides “education, nutrition, medical and dental care, and Christ-like love to the children and families we serve. We believe through our teachers, mentors, and house parents we are raising children to discover their purpose and to become the future leaders of Haiti.”

It’s awesome to see Mike cut loose while also devoting energy to his ongoing humanitarian work. Be sure to share this comical update with other fans of the Underwood-Fisher family!
