No, country music songstress Carrie Underwood and her husband of seven years, Mike Fisher, are not getting a divorce. The NHL star put the brakes on the gossip mill via Instagram.
While the Bible verse selection is a bit cryptic, Fisher responded to a few of the comments on his post including one from user @beverly.ayers.
“Praying for you and Carrie. Ignore the media! Hold tight to each other. There are always bumps in the road. Keep focusing on Jesus!” the user wrote. “He will guide you thru!”
Fisher responded with: “That’s not media. We’ve never been better. Thanks.”
Well, there you have it folks— the Fishers are fine.
While Carrie is back in the recording studio working on new music, Mike has come out of a very short retirement to rejoin the Nashville Predators!
“It felt a little weird at first to be back out there,” Fisher shared with The Tennessean after his first practice. “Everything comes back quick as far as drills and fitting in, all that stuff. But I’ve still got to keep skating and make sure I get in good shape. … I actually feel better than I thought I would at this point.”
At this point, Mike remains without a contract, which he must sign by February 26th in order to play the remainder of this season. The Predators are expected to sign him by the deadline and have him debut in early March.
With Mike back in the fold, the Preds have a natural go-to song to pump them up in the locker room as they push to get into the Stanley Cup finals this season! Maybe Carrie could hold a locker room mini-concerts before key games…
“The Champion” Lyrics
I’ll be the last one standing
Two hands in the air, I’m a champion
You’ll be looking up at me when it’s over
I live for the battle, I’m a soldier, yeah
I’m a fighter like Rocky
Put your flag on your back like Ali
Yeah, I’m the greatest I’m stronger
Paid my dues, can’t lose, I’m own ya, ay
I’ve been working my whole life
And now it’s do or die
I am invincible, unbreakable
Unstoppable, unshakeable
They knock me down, I get up again
I am the champion, you’re gon’ know my name
You can’t hurt me now, I can’t feel the pain
I was made for this, yeah, I was born to win
I am the champion
When they write my story
They gonna say that I did it for the glory
But don’t think that I did it for the fame, yeah
I did it for the love of the game, yeah
And this is my chance I’m taking
All them old records, I’m breaking
All you people watching on the TV
You go ahead and put your bets on me, ay
I’ve been waiting my whole life
To see my name in lights
I am invincible, unbreakable
Unstoppable, unshakeable
They knock me down, I get up again
I am the champion, you’re gon’ know my name
You can’t hurt me now, I can’t feel the pain
I was made for this, yeah, I was born to win
I am the champion, oh
Born champion, Luda
The C is for the courage I possess through the trauma
H is for the hurt, but it’s all for the honor
A is for my attitude working through the patience
Money comes and goes, so the M is for motivation
Gotta stay consistent, the P is for persevere
The I is for integrity, innovative career
The O is optimistic, open and never shut
And the N is necessary ’cause I’m never givin’ up
See, they ask me how I did it, I just did it from the heart
Crushin’ the competition, been doing it from the start
They say that every champion is all about his principles
Carrie
I am invincible, unbreakable
Unstoppable, unshakeable
They knock me down, I get up again
I am the champion, you’re gon’ know my name
You can’t hurt me now, I can’t feel the pain
I was made for this, yeah, I was born to win
I am the champion
I’m the champion, yeah, surpassed all rivals
It’s all about who wants it the most
I am the champion
Fight for what we believe in
That’s what champions are made of
I am the champion (Yeah, champion)
