Florida native Michael Ray attributes his talent and love of music to his late grandfather, Amos, and the country singer appropriately named his forthcoming album after his grandpa. Amos is set to hit the shelves on June 1st, but luckily country fans do not have to wait to enjoy the project! Fans can pre-order the album now and receive access to the record’s first two singles, “Fan Girl” and “Get To You.”
“‘Get To You’ is such a special song not only because it’s the first single off of Amos, but also because I feel that it’s something everyone can relate to on some level. I feel like we’ve all been on at least one side of this storyline (‘Why do you run away from love, what the hell are you so scared of trying, I’m trying to get to you’). In my case, I’ve been on both sides,” Ray explained in a statement. “I want fans to hear this song and be reminded that we’re all human — we all go through these emotions. It’s part of growing, and this song serves to remind fans they’re not alone.”

“Get To You” Lyrics
Somebody had to hurt you bad
For you to give up like that
Somebody had to break your heart in two
But that ain’t me and you
So tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
You can’t look me in the eye
What am I supposed to do
When you say we’re through
Why do you
Run away, run away from love
What the hell are you so scared of
You walk away when you’ve had enough
Of trying, of trying
Girl there’s always gonna be some pain
A little sunshine, a little rain
It doesn’t mean it ain’t worth it babe
I’m trying, I’m trying to get to you
To you
One day you’re gonna love again
Mess up and let somebody in
To every part of your whole world
You think it’s unthinkable girl
But somebody’s gonna break those walls
Somebody’s gonna watch you fall
Gonna give it your all and I hope that I’m around
When you finally find out why you
Run away, run away from love
What the hell are you so scared of
You walk away when you’ve had enough
Of trying, of trying
Girl there’s always gonna be some pain
A little sunshine, a little rain
It doesn’t mean it ain’t worth it babe
I’m trying, I’m trying to get to you
To you
So tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
You can’t look me in the eye
What am I supposed to do
When you say we’re through
Why do you
Run away, run away from love
What the hell are you so scared of
You walk away when you’ve had enough
Of trying, of trying
Girl there’s always gonna be some pain
A little sunshine, a little rain
It doesn’t mean it ain’t worth it babe
I’m trying, I’m trying to get to you
To you
Somebody had to hurt you bad
For you to give up like that
Somebody had to break your heart in two
But that ain’t me and you
