Country music star Michael Ray's upcoming album, 'Amos,' with expose a more personal side of the artist. More details here!

Country music artist Michael Ray first hit the scene with his self-titled, debut album featuring two RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 hits, “Kiss You in the Morning” and “Think A Little Less.” Now, the Florida native is set to release his very personal album, Amos, on June 1st.

The album is named in honor of Ray’s grandfather, Amos, who was a huge influence on him and helped ignite his love for country music. In fact, Ray first began singing and performing in his grandfather’s band when he was only nine years old. To this day he still plays Amos’ hand-me-down guitar, a 1978 Les Paul, as a reminder of the time they spent together sharing stories, learning songs and making memories.

“The day I made my debut on the Opry stage, all I could think about was how he would be so proud,” Ray shares of his late grandfather, whose passing was just two months prior to his first bow on the famous stage. Ray was set to fulfill the dream they crafted together over a decade before when he got the call from his family that Amos had suffered a heart attack. “Looking back, that moment was a pivotal one–our family lost its patriarch. So, when we started making this record, before I would record vocals on the song I would ask myself, ‘is this a song I would have played proudly for him?’ It makes this album that much more special to think he would have said, ‘Ray, that’s a good one.’”

The upcoming record features 11 tracks including Ray’s current top 20 single, “Get To You.” Listen to the track below!

“Get To You” Lyrics

Somebody had to hurt you bad
For you to give up like that
Somebody had to break your heart in two
But that ain’t me and you
So tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
You can’t look me in the eye
What am I supposed to do?
When you say we’re through
Why do you?
Run away, run away from love
What the hell are you so scared of?
You walk away when you’ve had enough
Of trying, of trying
Girl there’s always gonna be some pain
A little sunshine, a little rain
It doesn’t mean it ain’t worth it babe
I’m trying, I’m trying to get to you
To you
One day you’re gonna love again
Mess up and let somebody in
To every part of your whole world
You think it’s unthinkable girl
But somebody’s gonna break those walls
Somebody’s gonna watch you fall
Gonna give it your all and I hope that I’m around
When you finally find out why you
Run away, run away from love
What the hell are you so scared of?
You walk away when you’ve had enough
Of trying, of trying
Girl there’s always gonna be some pain
A little sunshine, a little rain
It doesn’t mean it ain’t worth it babe
I’m trying, I’m trying to get to you
To you
So tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
You can’t look me in the eye
What am I supposed to do?
When you say we’re through
Why do you?
Run away, run away from love
What the hell are you so scared of?
You walk away when you’ve had enough
Of trying, of trying
Girl there’s always gonna be some pain
A little sunshine, a little rain
It doesn’t mean it ain’t worth it babe
I’m trying, I’m trying to get to you
To you
Somebody had to hurt you bad
For you to give up like that
Somebody had to break your heart in two
But that ain’t me and you
