The Matt Stell Everywhere But On song was released in 2019 as the title track to his album. Matt shared about the song, “writing that song, it’s just a lot of a lot of personal things of my life in that song. You know, like, a lot of that second verse: When I say my mail’s still going to my mama’s house, I still have mail that gets sent there because I wasn’t able to get my mail because I was on the road so long before I moved to Nashville … So, those kind of things, and then they once I did finally move to Nashville, working any kind of secondary side hustles that I could to kind of keep things afloat — you know, all that stuff’s true. And, you know, I’ve traveled all over the all over the country playing music, so that song was really a really a personal one”.

Matt co-wrote the song with Paul Sikes and Lance Miller.
It’s a big ol’ world outside this little town
Thought that’s all I needed to drown you out
It was gonna be easy
It was supposed to be easy
Put some days, put some miles in the rearview
A few state lines ‘tween me and you
Just a little space and time and I’d be fine
But I’ve been from Savannah to Long Beach
Tryna keep your memory out of reach
But there you were in the Delta nights
The Santa Fe sun, the Colorado sky
I could add another push pin to the map
But that don’t stop me from missin’ you or lookin’ back
Guess there’s just one place I haven’t gone
I’ve moved everywhere but on
My mail’s still goin’ to mama’s house
‘Cause I’m still long gone tryin’ to figure out
Who I am without you
And why I still think about you
Just bidin’ my time makin’ ends meet
Loadin’ trucks, pourin’ coffee, pourin’ concrete
Plannin’ my next move for gettin’ over you, yeah
But I’ve been from Savannah to Long Beach
Tryna keep your memory out of reach
But there you were in the Delta nights
The Santa Fe sun, the Colorado sky
I could add another push pin to the map
But that don’t stop me from missin’ you or lookin’ back
Guess there’s just one place I haven’t gone
I’ve moved everywhere but on
If I had it my way, this ol’ highway
Would’ve fixed me up somehow
Would’ve led me home by now
I’ve been from Savannah to Long Beach
Tryna keep your memory out of reach
But there you were in the Delta nights
The Santa Fe sun, the Colorado sky
I could add another push pin to the map
But that don’t stop me from missin’ you or lookin’ back
Guess there’s just one place I haven’t gone
I’ve moved everywhere but on
I’ve moved everywhere but on
