Country music entertainers Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd are perfectly suited for each other. In fact, it was their passion for music that brought the couple together in the first place.
Her Story
Maren Larae Morris was born April 10, 1990 in Arlington, Texas. She’s the daughter of Scott and Kellie Morris and the older sister of Karsen Morris. The 27-year-old is currently living in Nashville doing what she does best — writing songs and making country music.
Maren has released 4 studio albums starting with her 2005 debut album, Walk On with the Mozzi Blozzi Music label, followed by All That it Takes, by Smith Entertainment, Live Wire, released in 2011 by Mozzi Blozzi Music, and finally, Hero, released in 2016 by Columbia Nashville. Hero reached number five on the Billboard 200 chart and number 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.
Maren’s debut single, “My Church” hit number 1 on the Country Digital Songs chart in 2016 and reached the top 5 on the US Hot Country Songs chart. Before these chart topping songs, Maren spent many years in Nashville as a songwriter. She wrote songs for artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Aubrey Peeples, Jessie James Decker, and Tim McGraw. In fact, it was during a writing session that Maren met Ryan Hurd.
Most recently, the Texan’s song “I Could Use a Love Song” his number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, making it her first-ever No. 1 song. In response to this milestone moment in her career, Ryan took to Instagram to congratulate his bride-to-be via the heartwarming post below.

In November, Hurd revealed the official “Love in a Bar” music video which also features Morris. The music video is sweetly intimate and allows fans to really see the chemistry between the musicians as they enjoy time together at Hurd’s lake house, where they also got engaged.
“Love in a Bar” Lyrics
It wasn’t the two for ones
That made the hour magic
It wasn’t anything else I guess that we just had it
I wasn’t there to get drunk but it happened ’cause I never wanted to say goodbye
We were just friends, just hanging
Just sitting ’round waiting for somebody to cross the line
We found love in a bar in the back of a patio corner
Away from the lights it was us and Corona
And hearts on fire like the cigarettes you smoke
When you drink now we can’t turn back ’cause the words came out
And the truth can’t lie
And we’ve been saying it with our eyes the whole time
That you have my whole heart
Yeah, we found love in a bar
You didn’t say sorry
You didn’t look away
Girl, you just said what I was thinking
You weren’t afraid
Yeah, we found love in a bar in the back of a patio corner
Away from the lights it was us and Corona
And hearts on fire like the cigarettes you smoke
When you drink now we can’t turn back ’cause the words came out
And the truth can’t lie
And we’ve been saying it with our eyes the whole time
That you have my whole heart
Yeah, we found love in a bar
We found love in a bar in the back of a patio corner
Away from the lights it was us and Corona
And hearts on fire like the cigarettes you smoke
When you drink now we can’t turn back ’cause the words came out
And the truth can’t lie
And we’ve been saying it with our eyes the whole time
That you have my whole heart
Yeah, we found love in a bar
Yeah, we found love in a bar
