Luke Combs and his fiancée Nicole Hocking won't be spending Christmas together this year, but they are cool with it. More here!
Country music hit-maker Luke Combs and fiancée Nicole Hocking are planning to spend Christmas with their respective families.
“We did Thanksgiving with her parents and my parents at our new house, so I think she is going to go see her folks for about five days and I’m going to see my folks for about five days and we are all going to see our friends that we don’t get to see anymore. I think that will be really good,” Combs shared with Taste of Country about their holiday plans.
While some newly engaged couples may feel pressured to visit both families and experience a whirlwind of activity, Luke and Nicole feel fine about keeping things more low-key.
“There is no pressure for her to come to Asheville [North Carolina] or me to come to go there. We are just cool. We can be apart and know its going to be great when we are back together. That’s really neat. There is no pressure on that end of it,” the “Hurricane” singer explains.
We can’t blame them for wanting to take it easy, Combs’ 2019 tour schedule is going to be demanding and the pair are also trying to figure out their wedding timing. According to the singer-songwriter, the pair may wait a year or a little longer to exchange vows.
Right now, the country star is just happy to be engaged to the love of his life.
“I guess things are more official in the eyes of the world, but it doesn’t feel that different,” Combs candidly expressed. “We’ve been serious for a long time. It’s just neat now to be in a more team like atmosphere, where it’s like a partnership. We help each other with so much stuff and so many life things. I know she’s going to be around to help me out, and likewise.”
When this couple first started their romance, Combs was working from the ground up to get noticed in Nashville and Hocking was working at Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI).
“Everybody was like, ‘Yeah, this is never gonna work,’” Combs confessed to PEOPLE during a past interview regarding the start of his career, “and so I didn’t have anything when we met.”
Things have changed quickly for this couple in their personal and professional lives! We wish them both a very happy holiday season!
