Country star Luke Bryan shares his feelings after speaking to Jason Aldean shortly after the shocking Las Vegas mass shooting. More here.

While appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America this morning to promote the reboot of American Idol, country music hit-maker Luke Bryan revealed that he talked to fellow star Jason Aldean just hours after the Las Vegas mass shooting took place.

“Hearing one of your best friends shaken up like that, knowing they’ll never be able to unsee these things, you get lumps, and you get nauseated,” Bryan candidly shared. “It’s hard — I don’t even know.”

The unfathomable violence, which claimed 59 lives and injured over 500, occurred as Aldean was performing his headlining set at the packed Route 91 Harvest Festival on Sunday night.

“As entertainers, you look at your fans — you’re not up there to do anything but connect with them,” the Georgia native expressed. “I lay in bed, and when they show the faces of the victims — they’re our fans, they embody America. It’s [a] country music festival, but it’s America, and it’s bigger than just — it’s just bigger than — it goes so far beyond. You heard about it at the Ariana Grande concert and now here it is in front of us. It was one of the most heartbreaking days of my life and for this country too.”

Understandably, country music artists and fans are more concerned than ever about safety at these large events. Bryan, who is currently on his annual Farm Tour with special guest Jon Pardi, released the following message via Facebook to reassure concertgoers.:

“We are greatly saddened by the event that took place in Vegas and are praying for those country music fans, their families and all involved. We want to assure our fans that we are working with state and local officials to do everything possible to ensure your safety during our Farm Tour shows. Country Music has always been about community and we will continue to stand together.”
