Country music star Crystal Gayle has just shared that her sister, Loretta Lynn, has broken her hip. More on the update here.

Country music songstress Crystal Gayle took to social media to share that her beloved older sister, 85-year-old Loretta Lynn, recently broke her hip in a fall.

“My birthday wish is for everyone to send love and prayers to my sister, Loretta Lynn, who fell and broke her hip last week. I was with Loretta yesterday. She is in good spirits and is doing as well as can be expected with this type of injury. Thank you for your love, prayers and continued support!” Crystal wrote.

It’s awful to hear about another health setback for this incredibly talented legend. In May 2017, Loretta suffered a stroke at her home in in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, which prompted her to cancel her remaining tour dates along with pushing back the release of her upcoming album, Wouldn’t It be Great, to sometime in 2018.

We wish ‘The First Lady of Country Music’ a full and speedy recovery! As we all hope the best for the songbird, enjoy Loretta Lynn‘s moving “Lay Me Down” duet with Willie Nelson. With over 5 million views on YouTube, this is definitely not a music video you want to pass up. Featured on the 2016 album, Full Circle, this track was written by Lynn’s son-on-law, Mark Marchetti.

“Lay Me Down” Lyrics

I raise my head and set my sail
In the eye of the storm and the belly of a whale
My spirit stood on solid ground
I’ll be at peace when they lay me down

When I was a child I cried
Until my knees were satisfied
My knees have grown pound for pound
I’ll be at peace when they let me down

When they lay me down someday
My soul will rise and fly away
This old world will turn around
I’ll be at peace when then lay me down

This life isn’t fair it seems
It’s filled with tears and broken dreams
There are no tears where I am bound
And I’ll be at peace when they lay me down

When they lay me down someday
My soul will rise and fly away
This old world will turn around
I’ll be at peace when then lay me down

When they lay me down someday
My soul will rise and fly away
This old world will turn around
I’ll be at peace when then lay me down

When I was a child I cried
