Rising country music talent Kimberly Kelly rocks a megawatt smile and an unmistakable throwback style. But don’t let her totally chic vintage look fool you— this lady turns out the kind of country music you’ve been craving. The Texan’s EP Don’t Blame It On Me is set to drop on August 31st. Get a first taste of what’s to come through her refreshingly nostalgic tune “Some Things Have a Name” below!
“When I was looking for songs I told people to ‘Dust off the stuff that nobody’s looking for right now!’ The melody in ‘Some Things Have a Name,’ and the way we recorded it, it sounds like a modern classic country song, and I’m proud I got to cut it,” Kelly exclusively shared with Country Fancast.
It’s obvious that Kimberly Kelly is onto something big— you can’t get more country than a song about the very real aftermath caused by a no-good cheatin’ scoundrel. We look forward to hearing what else this artist has to offer up via her latest project.
“I’m excited about this EP because it’s been 8 years since I’ve put out an album. Because I didn’t write all the songs (I wrote one), I feel like more of a fan of it this time and less vulnerable about what I wrote. It’s like, ‘Listen to these SONGS y’all! Aren’t they great?'” the artist added.
The Bluebird Café, Gruene Hall, and even the Grand Ole Opry have all welcomed Kimberly onto their stages, and artists like Jason Aldean, Steve Wariner, Tracy Lawrence, Kevin Fowler, Aaron Watson, Josh Abbott, Cody Johnson, and Pat Green have had Kimberly out to open for them.
Be sure to share this up-and-coming artist with other country music fans!
