Actor and musician Kiefer Sutherland has released the official music video for his heart-wrenching song “Shirley Jean” from his album Down In A Hole. The visual story is set in a prison and features Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell from the popular television show Prison Break.
Many people don’t know that Kiefer has been busy playing country music while also filming Designated Survivor. He just played the Stagecoach music festival this past weekend and will now be getting ready to head out on a tour spanning the United States and Europe.

“Shirley Jean” Lyrics
Hey Shirley Jean I hope this finds you good
I wanted to write but didn’t know if I should
So many years now that I lost what is real
But I still remember how you made me feel
From boys’ home to boys’ home until I was 18
Sent me to prison, they said I was mean
And as young as I was, I could handle my own
the being there and dealt with have left cold stone?
Its the last night that I see your face
daydreams of you were my sweetest place
time’s taken its toll but I’m alright to go
Its my last night and I thought you should know
Writing these words don’t come easy to me
but I’ve run out of time and soon I’ll be free
And you were the only one I ever had,
the only bright spot in a life that went bad
The years they have past, but I got through them all
with the wallet size picture of you on my wall
And the way that you kissed me without regret
It’s something my heart will never forget
Its the last night that I see your face
daydreams of you were my sweetest place
time’s taken its toll but I’m alright to go
Its my last night, I thought you should know
When they flip the switch I hope all I can see,
it’s you in my arms dancing with me.
In this cold world I did all I could do,
I never had love but the closest was you.
Its the last night that I see your face
daydreams of you were my sweetest place.
Time’s taken its toll but I’m alright to go
Its my last night and I thought you should know
Its my last night, I thought you should know.
