Liberate your old iPod from the junk drawer and give it to Kenny Chesney! The popular country crooner has linked up with the non-profit Music & Memory to encourage fans to donate their no longer used to help those struggling with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.

“The gift of a music player full of favorite songs can help reconnect people with Alzheimer’s to good memories and to the people around them, and that’s a ray of hope for a lot of people,” Kenny says in this heartfelt PSA he taped for the non-profit.
Music & Memory provides patients with individually customized playlists that help enhance their overall quality of life. (As music fans already know, music has some awesome healing and mood-lifting powers.) The innovative program has expanded nationwide with 1,000 outlets.
