Liberate your old iPod from the junk drawer and give it to Kenny Chesney! The popular country crooner has linked up with the non-profit Music & Memory to encourage fans to donate their no longer used to help those struggling with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.
“The gift of a music player full of favorite songs can help reconnect people with Alzheimer’s to good memories and to the people around them, and that’s a ray of hope for a lot of people,” Kenny says in this heartfelt PSA he taped for the non-profit.
Music & Memory provides patients with individually customized playlists that help enhance their overall quality of life. (As music fans already know, music has some awesome healing and mood-lifting powers.) The innovative program has expanded nationwide with 1,000 outlets. The organization gladly accepts all Apple music players in working condition. Chargers are not required, but appreciated. Learn how to donate your players here.
Besides supporting a fantastic cause, Chesney is in full tour mode! The country star kicked off his The Big Revival tour last Thursday in Nashville.
