Kelly Clarkson's incredible return to American Idol left Keith Urban in tears.
Kelly Clarkson’s roots with American Idol runs deep and she proved her connection to the show during last night’s performance of her autobiographical song “Piece by Piece”.
Clarkson wrote the song after the birth of her first child, River Rose, when she was compelled to reflect on the fact that her father left her as a young girl and how her husband is her rock and partner.
Clarkson broke down on stage while singing the song, which is understandable both because of her current pregnant state and the emotional connection to the song, but what wasn’t expected was Keith Urban‘s response.
Urban took to twitter to say “I’m am truly speechless. Thank you for gracing us tonight with your beautiful heart, soul, gift, and your pure humanity”.
