Country music superstar Keith Urban made a very special visit to a fan before his Thursday night show in Toledo, Ohio. The Aussie stopped by Mercy Health St. Vincent Hospital to perform a song for 25-year-old Marissa English. According to WTOL-11, the young woman’s declining health made it impossible for her to attend Urban’s concert in person.
In order for Marissa to see her favorite star, her nurses started a social media campaign to get Urban’s attention.
“We knew how important it was to Marissa to be at that concert,” nurse Jan Cassity explained to WTOL-11.“Since she wasn’t able to we were hoping to try and find some way to have Keith make a connection with her.”
Fortunately, Urban did get the message in time! The star sang his hit “Blue Ain’t Your Color” to Marissa and she seemed to be loving every second as she held his hand. As can be expected, she was all smiles and mouthed every word back to him.

“He sat with her and held her hand and talked to her and sang with her,” Marissa’s mother, Marlise Matthews, said of the superstar’s 45 minute visit. “It was … it was priceless. I mean, a dream come true.”
Marissa’s wish came true in a big way and even had an impact on her overall well-being.
“She’s been having a lot of difficult days, but she relaxed. Her heart rate actually came down, which surprises me because I thought it would go up, but she was just enjoying the moment,” Matthews shared with the outlet.
After meeting his superfan and taking the stage at the Huntington Center, Urban dedicated his concert to Marissa.
Keith is a class act and just a wonderful human. We are thrilled that Marissa got to have this special moment!
