Country music entertainer Keith Urban can collaborate with the best of the best in the music world. Find out why he especially likes Ed Sheeran...

Country music superstar Keith Urban has never been afraid to shake up his sound and put his own unique impression on the country music genre. For his latest album, Graffiti U, the entertainer welcomed collaborations with other talented artists inside and outside the country sphere.

“The listener is always going to decide what genre it fits into,” Urban shared with Rolling Stone Country about his musical perspective. “I’ve always made music that has felt not as country necessarily, that someone in Nashville may say, ‘Oh, this isn’t very country,’ but everybody else would say, ‘That’s totally country. What else is it?’ It’s all relative to where you are, what you’re immersed in, and how you define genres as a listener. My goal was to keep capturing my musical heart where it is right now. And it’s in motion. So this is musically where I’m at right now.”

Popular British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran co-wrote the romantic track “Parallel Line” alongside Amy Victoria Wadge, Benjamin Levin, John McDaid, and Julia Michaels. Urban also revealed that Sheeran is one of his favorite songwriters in the music business.

“Ed is one of the really few guys who will put his heart on his sleeve,” Urban shared with Rolling Stone Country. “He has no problem in being vulnerable. The fears that us guys have about getting our heart broken by somebody, we never talk about that. That’s what I love so much about Ed, his willingness to be honest.”

 “Parallel Line” Lyrics

You said “I love you” to me
I don’t know what that means
So I froze in my feet
People use it too carelessly
And I couldn’t believe
That you would dive in so deep
And you said perfectly
Everything I’ve been feeling about you
It’s time to break the chains that held me back from you
So come on and
Take a little bit of my
Heart tonight
No, I literally don’t mind
Just please don’t misplace it
And take a little bit of my
Heart tonight
No, baby be mine now
Baby, be mine now
Maybe it’s time we put our hearts in a parallel line
Well I was never the type
To put it all on the line
But I’ve been changing my mind since you opened my eyes
It was a way that the light
Picked you out of that night
Then you were right by my side
Put a soul in my body
And now it’s time to close the space between the two of us
So come on and
Take a little bit of my
Heart tonight
No, I literally don’t mind
Just please don’t misplace it
And take a little bit of my
Heart tonight
No, baby be mine now
Baby, be mine now
Maybe it’s time we put our hearts in a parallel line
Oh baby it’s time
Oh it’s time
Take a little bit of my
Heart tonight
No, I literally don’t mind
Just please don’t misplace it
And take a little bit of my
Heart tonight
No, baby be mine now
Baby, be mine now
And take a little bit of my
Heart tonight
No, I literally don’t mind
Just please don’t misplace it
And take a little bit of my
Heart tonight
No, baby be mine now
Baby, be mine now
Maybe it’s time we put our hearts in a parallel line
And put our hearts in a parallel line
And put our hearts in a parallel line
