Country music hit-maker Keith Urban was born in New Zealand but spent the bulk of his childhood in nearby Australia. Christmas Down Under is far from a snowy winter wonderland and falls in the hot summer months!
“I have great memories of getting up early and going and jumping on your parents’ bed and getting them up,” Urban recently shared with PopCulture.com. “And then of course, you tear open the presents and then it’s done and it’s like eight in the morning, and you’ve got all morning now to sort of wish you had more presents to open. We had great Christmases growing up. I really, really enjoyed them. Mostly, we’d go to the beach, you know, ’cause there it’s summertime. Load up the station wagon and head off to the beach.”
Before kicking off the Australian leg of his Graffiti U World Tour, Keith will celebrate Christmas with his wife Nicole Kidman and their two daughters Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith Margaret, 7, in Australia. Maybe they can go visit a beautiful white sands beach for the day?
The reigning 2018 CMA ‘Entertainer of the Year’ is also set to perform live from Nashville, Tennessee, and host the Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight: New Year’s Eve from Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park on Monday, December 31st. By the way, this celebration is FREE and open to the public, gates open at 4 p.m. local time.
