Country music phenomenon Kane Brown has caught the attention of TIME Magazine and has earned a place in the publications’ ‘Meet the 31 People Who Are Changing the South’ feature. This list highlights individuals within politics, sports, technology, education, and the arts, who are shaking things up in the American South.
The 24-year-old country star was selected due to his fresh approach to the country music genre and his ability to go beyond the status quo. Brown’s 2017 smash hit “What Ifs”, featuring former classmate and fellow country star Lauren Alaina, became one of the most-streamed country songs in history. The entertainer is also the first artist to top all of Billboard’s country charts simultaneously.
