Following the success of his No. 1 debut album, Kane Brown wants to ensure his next project lives up to fans' expectations.

Fast-rising country music artist Kane Brown is gearing up for the release of his sophomore studio album in November. It follows his debut project, which jumpstarted a year of success for the young singer. The self-titled album reached the top of Billboard‘s Country Albums chart and produced two chart-topping singles, “Heaven” and “What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina. That duet also earned him his first CMT Music Award for Collaborative Video of the Year.

He’s got some big shoes to fill.

Check out this recent post with all of his accolades. Fellow country star Darius Rucker also praised Brown for his accomplishments as an artist of color in the country music genre.

As he enters a new chapter of his career, the 24-year-old singer says he’s being picky when it comes to choosing songs. He just released the lead single from his upcoming album, “Lost It,” during the 2018 CMA Music Festival. The tune eases fans into summer with an upbeat sound that talks about love and having a good time.

“‘Lost It’ to me is just a fun summer song. I feel like it’s very different,” Brown said during a press conference, according to Sounds Like Nashville. Listeners can hear a little fiddle music that hasn’t been on any of Brown’s previous music before.

“And then we have like a Lynyrd Skynyrd sounding guitar on there,” Brown added. “So to me, it’s just a very fun song. It has a bunch of different melodies… I mean, my main go-to was every time I go in a country club, I always see people two stepping to all these types of music. So, I feel like it’s a song you can just get in two step to.”

Kane Brown Lose It

Releasing a second album after such a successful first one can be a daunting task. Brown admits that the process of putting together another great album is stressful, but he’s intent on getting it right.

“It’s very scary because I felt like my debut album did better than what I expected,” he shared with Sounds Like Nashville. “I feel like I have to top that, and it’s making me grow as an artist, which I love, but it’s also making me a lot more picky.”

That means he wants his songs to be ones that he can sing over and over again for another year and not get tired of them.

“I want them to be special to me or just be fun at least for the crowd,” Brown said. “I’m really just working my tail off trying to get these songs good.”

His dogs definitely seem to approve of them! Check out this sweet video:

The new project is unnamed at the moment, but fans can catch a taste of Brown’s new music while he’s on the road! He is currently the opening act for Chris Young‘s 2018 Losing Sleep World Tour and already tested out a few new tracks with his band.

“There’s one called ‘Weekend’ that’s very different [and] honestly gets the crowd going more than any song other than the ones that they know,” Brown revealed.

Stay tuned for more great music from Kane Brown and “share” this with other Country Music fans !
