Sometimes life hits hard and there is nothing you can do about it. In Jon Pardi’s recent single, “She Ain’t In It,” the country music artist sings a melancholy tune about a broken-hearted cowboy’s failed relationship. Although the California native’s track is sad enough, Pardi took the emotional impact to another level with the accompanying music video.

Watch the music video below! For those who want to sing along, the song’s lyrics are posted under the video.

“She Ain’t In It” Lyrics

Apreciate your call, means a lot and all
Yeah, I got a minute
You and me can talk about anything you want
As long as she ain’t in it
Say, it’s been at least a month since I’ve had any fun
Buddy, I’ll admit it
Yeah, I might be going out
Think I’m ready for a crowd
As long as she ain’t in it

Don’t wanna hear her name
Don’t wanna see her face
I swear, I know its gonna hurt
If I run into her somewhere

We could hit that place down by the interstate
Out past the city limits
Hangout all night long
Hear a country song
As long as she ain’t in it

Don’t wanna hear her name
Don’t wanna see her face
I swear, I know its gonna hurt
If I run into her somewhere

I can drink and I can dance
I can party and I can laugh
No matter how you spin it
Everything has changed
My life won’t be the same
As long as she ain’t in it
As long as she ain’t in it

In other news, the “Dirt on my Boots” singer has a message for his audience. When asked by CMT what he would say to his younger fans, Pardi replied, “I always thought that if I could put a message out for kids who look up to me, I’d say, ‘Don’t smoke.’ I mean, who knows? This could change their life.” Unfortunately, Jon has dealt with the effects of smoking first-hand. “My grandma, the one who got me into music, passed away from lung cancer when she was only 63,” Pardi said. “My mom’s family smoked. And my dad’s family smoked, and his dad died from it,” he continued. “Cigarettes are just everywhere. So I grew up around smokers, but I just never started.”
