Rory Feek Memorial Service Video

Yesterday, 49-year-old Rory Feek took the podium at a public memorial for his late wife Joey Feek and detailed her final wishes, as well as the reasons he decided to create his moving This Life I Live blog two years ago.

Hundreds of mourners gathered for the public memorial at Joey Feek‘s alma mater Alexandria-Monroe High School in her hometown of Alexandria, Indiana. Rory and his three daughters traveled back from their farm in Tennessee to attend the event.

Rory closed his moving remarks about love and Joey’s incredible legacy by sincerely thanking family, friends, and the hundreds of people who were in attendance. In a heartbreaking move, Rory put on Joey’s high school varsity jacket.

“She may have played basketball and volleyball in this gym,” Rory stated, then paused a moment. “And I may be wearing her jacket. But what she lettered in was love.”
