Country music entertainer Jason Aldean and wife Brittany welcomed their first child together, a son named Memphis, into the world on December 1st. Jason also has two daughters, 14-year-old Keeley and 10-year-old Kendyl, from his previous marriage to high school sweetheart Jessica Ussery. Although the Georgia native is no stranger to fatherhood, it’s been some time since the artist has had a newborn in his household.
Memphis entered the world exactly two months after the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting and his arrival helped bring healing to Jason.
“One of the things that helped me, personally, was the birth of my son,” the star shared with SiriusXM’s The Highway. “That gave me a chance to focus on something else.”
“Within a couple months, I saw the worst thing you could possibly experience, and then I saw the best thing you could possibly experience, with him being born,” he added. “So it gave me something else to focus on, and gave me a reason to look forward to the new year. Getting the chance to get back out there and do what it is that I love to do.”
When asked by radio personality Bobby Bones if going through the baby process twice before has made it easier, Jason said, “I think it probably helps because I kind of know what to expect, but also I think every kid’s different, you know? And it’s been a long time since I’ve had a baby at home. I think anytime a new baby is in your house, it’s tough, just trying to figure them out, their personalities and I forgot how much they eat! It’s all the time, man, like every two hours.”
Yes, Jason is also on diaper duty— his celebrity status doesn’t save him from that task.
Even though life with a newborn sometimes gets messy, Jason sure is in love with his little man!
Needless to day, new mom Brittany is enjoying bonding time with her little man. She often takes time to update fans via social media with Memphis snapshots and special family moments.
Despite all of the angelic pictures of Memphis, Jason and Brittany also keeps it real. Like pointing out the cute outfit she had to throw in the trash thanks to a poop explosion…
And “hangry” baby meltdowns…
