Just like fellow country artist Brett Young, Jason Aldean grew up on the baseball diamond. Although Aldean’s talent may not have measured up to Young’s MLB-worthy skills, Jason remembers playing little league before making the switch to music.
“I always played baseball in the summertime, so I spent a lot of summers doing that,” Aldean shared in a recent media interview. The country star also spent a lot of time in the Sunshine State after his parents split up when he was just 3-years-old. “My parents are divorced, so I lived with my dad in the summer. I’d go down to Florida and he lived a few miles from the beach. I basically spent every summer of my life at the beach about four days a week.”
Nowadays, the entertainer spends most of the year cranking out hit songs and playing some of the best live shows in the business. Despite his busy schedule, he still sets aside a certain amount of time each year to head back to Florida. His family loves the beach!
“Even now, I have a house in Florida. When summertime rolls around and it starts getting warm, I pack up and go live in Florida for a couple months. That’s summer to me. It’s sitting on the beach, drinking a few beers, eating some oysters, having family coming to town to hang out and vacation for a week or so. To me, that’s summer. Now it’s amphitheaters too, that’s summer. It’s become summer,” Aldean continued.
So, what does Jason have planned for summer 2018? Well, he will be on the road headlining his High Noon Neon Tour with Lauren Alaina and Luke Combs serving as special musical guests. Hopefully he’ll get to squeeze in some beach time this June!
