Country singer Jason Aldean opened up about the horrific Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting but also how the survivors have inspired him. More here!

Following his ‘Entertainer of the Year’ win at the 2018 ACM Awards, country music star Jason Aldean sat down with Ellen DeGeneres to discuss is latest musical endeavors and the aftermath of the tragic Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting.

“It was tough,” Jason began, opening up to the television host about visiting the victims in the hospital.

“I feel like they were there to see my show and obviously the last thing you want is for anyone to get hurt. It was tough to go back to see people in the hospital and some of them in comas and things like that,” Jason reflects. “(It was) one of the hardest things I ever had to do but it was also to me, seeing them and seeing the strength they had just being happy to be alive and make it through that, it sort of make me look at it in a different light. I got nothing to be whining about.”

While on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jason also recalled the exact moment when the violence began. At the time, the singer was on stage performing and did not know what was occurring.

“When it started, it was just crazy,” recalls Jason. “The ear monitors that we wear, it sounded like a guitar amp or something that was just crapping out and I didn’t know what it was.”

Jason didn’t just focus on the tragedy during his interview, he also talked about the birth of his son, Memphis, just three months after the shooting and performed his song “You Make It Easy.”
