Believe it or not, Jake Owen and ex-wife Lacey Buchanan’s daughter, Olive Pearl, is just one month away from her fifth birthday! Of course, Jake is a proud father and uses Instagram to document some of his daughter’s cutest moments. Let’s take a look at the some of these photos below…
First up, Pearl’s now obsessed with being a farmer. “You know how farmers put those weeds in their mouths? Well I need one bc I’m a farmer,” the little one told her father. She’s growing up to be a little country girl!
That’s not the first time Jake has documented her desire to be a farmer. Here’s another recent post where the country singer mentions his daughter’s passion for chickens. Luckily for Pearl, her father loves the country life and went out and bought some chickens for her to enjoy raising.
Despite Pearl’s love of the outdoors, she is always down to play indoors with dad. They have a special connection!
Although Jake is doing his best to take care of his baby girl, he admits it hasn’t always been easy since the divorce. Since the split, Olive has spent most of her time living with her mother in Florida. In an interview with People, Owen said, “That feeling that I was so lucky to have for a while by going out and doing what I love, playing songs, seeing the reaction of fans, getting that ultimate pleasure from them when I’m out on the road that you’re being accepted and people like your music. And [when] the weekend’s over and going home to what was even 10 times better than those feelings that I get on stage, which was walking in the front door and hearing a little girl go, ‘Daddy!’ and hearing her footsteps run.”
However, Owen has not ruled out the possibility getting married again. “Being married was a really awesome thing for me. I really loved it. Unfortunately, myself and Lacey didn’t work out, we still care a lot about each other and most importantly have so much love for our little girl, and we want to do what’s best for her.” Even though Lacey and Jake parted ways, it is good to know they still care about each other immensely and have so much love for their daughter!
