The hit TV Show Nashville has moved to CMT! The country drama will air its fifth season in January of 2017...will you be watching?
After four seasons on ABC, the hit TV show Nashville was cancelled. Though the show had a dedicated fan base, it seemed ABC dropped the show for financial reasons, but it has not ended yet! Returning for a fifth season, now airing on CMT, Nashville will bring back characters and continued drama as the show progresses. Hayden Panettiere left the show towards the end of season four, but the season five promo confirms her return, along with Connie Britton and Charles Esten. However, Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples did not sign up for the fifth season.
Stars of the show ensure viewers that the show will not be different just because of the switch to CMT and slight casting changes. During season four, the show saw a decrease in viewers. Producers are taking that into account while recording the fifth season, and it will have a feel much like its successful first season. One thing that will be different is the inclusion of more music! The actors are not taking the show’s return for granted, though. The Nashville cast is currently in the middle of filming the fifth season, and they are eager to be back on CMT. The new episodes will also be available on Hulu after airing first on CMT.
A special 2-hour episode will kick off season 5. Get an exclusive first look at new episodes of Nashville, premiering Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 9/8c on CMT below.
