In a brand new interview with PEOPLE, Lady Antebellum star Hillary Scott got candid about welcoming her twin daughters with husband Chris Tyrrell after suffering a miscarriage in late 2015.
Understandably, the couple were apprehensive about sharing their pregnancy news, “We were taking it a week at a time. ‘When are we going to announce this news?’ Because I wasn’t sure,” Hillary shared. “I’m like, ‘With Eisele, I carried a certain way. With twins, I mean, I might look five months pregnant by 12 weeks. Who knows?’”
Once August rolled around, Hillary felt comfortable enough to share the big news. Fast forward to present day and identical twin girls Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn are now 10 weeks old.

Scott calls her twins “a double blessing from the Lord,” and says it was very emotional when she found out she was carrying twins.
“It was emotional, because I’m like, ‘Oh, we’re going to have as many babies in our house as I hoped we would have,’ ” Hillary explained. ” ‘It just isn’t in the same timing that I thought it was going to be, but we are going to have our three.’ ”
Neither side of the Scott-Tyrrell family have a history of twins, so it’s extra special that the couple were able to conceive twins with no medical intervention.
“It was just one of those things. I was like, ‘They’re meant to be here,’ ” Hillary concluded.
