Country singer-songwriter Morgane Hayes Stapleton has been married to Chris Stapleton for over 10 years. In fact, it was on their 10th wedding anniversary in October 2017, that Morgane announced that they are expecting twins via Instagram. The pair already have a young son and daughter together.
Meet Morgane
Morgane is a Nashville, Tennessee native with a college degree majoring in management. She’s also a talented songwriter and singer who has written songs for Carrie Underwood (“Don’t Forget to Remember Me”) and LeAnn Rimes (“You Ain’t Right”). Eventually her songwriting career would lead her into crossing paths with her future husband.
How Morgane met Chris
Following their initial songwriting collaborations, Chris and Morgane continued to work as songwriters in Nashville. During a 2015 interview with the Washington Post Morgane shared, “Eventually he asked me to write a song with him, and that ended up being our first date.”
Besides being a talented songwriter, Morgane is also an amazing singer. She performs background vocals, duets, and harmony vocals with Chris and his band. Morgane also played an important part in the creation of Chris Stapleton’s first album 2015’s Traveller. It seems Morgane had been a fan of Chris before they started dating. Many of the album’s songs were from Morgane’s “lists of songs” for Chris’s debut album. In the interview with the Washington Post Chris hilariously quipped, “My wife has great taste in everything but men.” He continues, “The vast majority of the songs on my debut album, ‘Traveller’ came from lists she made.”
