Country music songstress Joey Feek passed away two years ago. In order to honor her, the Feek family held a very special picnic...

It’s hard to believe that Joey Feek passed away from cervical cancer two years ago on March 4, 2016.

“My wife’s greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven. The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased and all her tears are dry. Joey is in the arms of her beloved brother Justin and using her pretty voice to sing for her savior. At 2:30 this afternoon, as we were gathered around her, holding hands and praying.. my precious bride breathed her last. And a moment later took her first breath on the other side,” Rory shared with fans on the day of her death.

In honor of Joey, Rory, Indiana, Heidi, and Hopie enjoyed a picnic in the cemetery located on the family’s Tennessee farm where Joey is also buried.

“It’s been 2 years now since Joey passed away. I see her in every flower that blooms and every smile on Indy’s face. Today we had a picnic, in the cemetery, next to Jo’s grave. I think she would’ve loved it. I miss her so much,” Heidi shared on Instagram with the photo below.

“In the 40 short years that Joey has lived, my bride has accomplished many great things… she’s lived a very full life. But even more than that, she has loved those around her greatly and been loved greatly in return. I can honestly say that Joey’s isn’t just a life well-lived, it’s a life well-loved,” Rory Feek shared with fans shortly before her passing.

Two years later and Rory’s words still ring true. Joey has had a huge impact on individuals all over the world and her loss is still very much felt. In honor of her memory, let’s take a look back at her amazing talent and enjoy Joey + Rory‘s “Leave It There” live music video below.

“Leave It There” Lyrics

If the world from you withholds of its silver and its gold,
And you have to get along with meager fare,
Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird;
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.

Leave it there, leave it there,
Just take your burden to the Lord oh and leave it there.
If you trust him through your doubt, He will surely bring you out.
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.

Now if your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,
And your soul is slowly sinking in despair,
Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;
Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.

Take your burden to the Lord, leave it there.

Leave it there
