On May 20th, Sevierville, Tennessee, will host their 13th annual Mountain Soul Vocal Competition honoring country music legend Dolly Parton and recognizing her songwriting talent. Registration and auditions are required to compete, the deadline is April 7th. On top of a free recording session, the event offers cash prizes to the winners. However, the contest also requires you to sign up according to your age, which determines your category.

Tennessee has always been kind to the country music singer and Dolly Parton has repeatedly repaid her home state kindly. Last December, Parton hosted a telethon to raise money for victims of a severe wildfire that destroyed many homes. The country music maven asked viewers and fans to donate online and over the phone. Within a few days, the telethon raised over $9 million.
