During her very first-ever appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, country music maven Dolly Parton absolutely shined.
The host brought up Parton’s life-sized bronze statue located in her hometown of Sevierville, Tennessee and asked her about the unique honor. She gladly obliged and told a touching story about her late father, Robert Lee Parton.
“After my dad died, my brothers told me that late at night he’d go down to the statue late at night and clean the pigeon poop off the statue,” she revealed to Kimmel. She also went on add, “Daddy is gone, so I bet that pigeon poop is still there.”
That story just hits you in the heart. Her recollections about longtime friend and musical collaborator Willie Nelson will make you laugh…
Dolly tells the best stories and her laugh is just contagious. Her new album Pure & Simple is her first No. 1 country album in 25 years, while on Jimmy Kimmel Live! she performed “Outside Your Door” from the record.
