Country music star Dierks Bentley has released the music video for "You Can't Bring Me Down," which comes off of his new album to be released June 8th.
Country music artist Dierks Bentley will release his new album, The Mountain, on June 8th. Before doing so, he gave us a little taste of some of the songs on the project and just dropped the music video for “You Can’t Bring Me Down.” Check out the inspiring and beautiful video!
It’s hard to ignore the beautiful landscapes featured in the backdrop of this video. In between clips of the band performing the feel-good tune, highlights from a nonprofit organization called Cultivate Kindness spark feelings of inspiration.
The organization was created to honor McKenzi Loid, a 26-year-old woman who passed away in 2017 due to a car accident. Loid’s younger sister and mother created Cultivate Kindness to sell merchandise and raise money to support other groups such as Be the Light, which puts on an annual prom for special needs students.
Bentley’s includes this inspirational aspect to compliment the uplifting lyrics heard in “You Can’t Bring Me Down.” The single follows the release of “The Mountain, “Living,” and “Woman, Amen,” which is a current radio hit.
The Mountain will be Bentley’s ninth studio album, which he recorded in the mountains of Colorado. The Arizona native has certainly put together an incredibly deep and inspiring album.
You can try to wrap your words like rocks around my ankles
And push me off a bridge in hopes that I might drown
Any cheap shots that you got, yeah, I can handle
You don’t get this far without knowing how to get up off the ground
So I turn up a cold one, and I turn up the volume
Unlaugh, unlove, on the way I feel right now
Yeah, I learned how to let go, and how to take the high road
I’m on another level, you can’t bring me down
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
I’ll be the first to say I’ve made some bad decisions
I been a little quick to call the kettle black
But it’s true what they say about forgiveness
And once you find a man, there ain’t nothing that can hold you back
So I turn up a cold one, and I turn up the volume
Unlaugh, unlove, on the way I feel right now
Yeah, I learned how to let go, and how to take the high road
I’m on another level, you can’t bring me down
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na, yeah
There ain’t nothing like the way my baby holds me
There ain’t nothing like this sweet piece that I’ve found
It takes off all the shackles, so save yourself the battle
Yeah, ha, you can’t bring me down
So I turn up a cold one, and I turn up the volume
Unlaugh, unlove, on the way I feel right now
Yeah, I learned how to let go, and how to take the high road
I’m on another level, you can’t bring me down
Yeah, I learned how to let go, and how to take the high road
I’m on another level, no, you can’t bring me down
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na, ha
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na, yeah
