Dierks Bentley Just Wants to Raise Some Generous Children

Country music singer-songwriter Dierks Bentley wants his children to learn the importance of giving back to their community. More here!

Country music star Dierks Bentley wants his three children with wife Cassidy Black Bentley to have some giving hearts. The Arizona native is helping 9-year-old Evie, 7-year-old Jordan, and 4-year-old Knox develop their philanthropic sides through example and action. The family often volunteers at Nashville’s Second Harvest Food Bank to pack meals for local disadvantaged families needing community help.

“I have three kids and I think a lot about trying to set them up for success as far as values and morals and traditions we have,” Bentley recently shared with PEOPLE. “I’m just trying to raise some good kids.”

Dierks is heavily involved with several great charitable causes including Miles & Music For Kids, which raises money for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. He is also quick to highlight giving individuals through his inspiring music videos. In April 2017, Cassidy ran the grueling Boston Marathon in an amazing 3 hours and 26 minutes! She ran to support a cause dear to her heart— Nashville’s Safe Haven, a homeless shelter for families.

Hugs to the little kids lined on the side of the street with their hands out to high five the runners. Hugs to the volunteers and everyone there keeping people safe. Hugs to the girls who cheered for me at mile 6 and the person who I couldn't see who screamed my name and "Safe Haven" at mile 10. I hope you heard me scream back. To everyone who shared encouraging words and those who donated to Safe Haven…gigantic bear hug. The last six miles of yesterday's race were mind bending. I lost my center and everything hurt and it felt like it would never, ever end. And yet here I am already feeling nostalgic for it. That's the weird magic of a marathon…or I guess of anything that is hard but worth it.

Obviously, the Bentley kids have some great examples to follow as they grow up. Besides giving back to the community as a family, Dierks also enjoys sharing his love of nature and travel with his children.

The country artist’s upcoming album, The Mountain, is set for release on June 8th. His 2018 Mountain High Tour with Brothers Osborne and LANCO is currently underway.
