Country singer Danielle Bradbery spent 2018 challenging herself to grow as an artist and step outside her comfort zones with her “Yours Truly: 2018 Cover Series.” Her final cover of the year was one that definitely pushed her as an artist- Danielle covered rapper Post Malone’s hit “Psycho.”
The No. 1 and three-time platinum radio rap jam was shaken up into a soft and feminine song. Danielle and a band completed with a pianist and a cellist truly transformed the hit and gave fans of both genres something to enjoy!
Danielle took to Instagram to tell fans how excited she was with covering this track. “I’ve always listened to and been inspired by music from all genres,” Danielle begins. “[Post Malone’s] “Psycho” was the first song I thought of when we started talking about the Yours Truly: 2018 cover series. So proud and excited to be sharing music with you that challenged me out of my comfort zone. Hope you love!”
Not only has Danielle covered “Psycho, but” she also has covered Ariana Grande’s “God is a Woman” and Kasey Musgrave’s “Slow Burn.” As an artist, Danielle is not afraid to branch out and this project has showcased her vocals and her love of all music!
“I grew up listening to all kinds of music, from country to R&B and hip-hop, even Hispanic music with my mom’s side of the family, and all of those influences have impacted my own art,” recounts Danielle. “Incredible music was released across all genres this year, so I wanted to mark this moment in time with my own versions of some of my favorites.”
With all of her hard work, Danielle is on a high with her music. Before she announced this project, she and Thomas Rhett released their song, “Goodbye Summer.”
The Voice Season 4 winner attributes her love for music and getting into the industry can be attributed to Carrie Underwood’s influence.
