Country Musicians React to News of Prince’s Death

Prince's death came as a big shock to the musical community today.

Prince has passed away at the age of 57. TMZ reports that the musical icon passed away at his Paisley Park estate located in Chanhassen, Minnesota. People Magazine, CBS, the Associated Press, and other reputable media outlets have confirmed the sad news.

“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, said in a statement provided to CBS. “There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time.”

“Prince Rogers Nelson found dead at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota,” the Carver County’s Sheriff Office confirmed. “We are investigating the circumstances of his death.”

Late last week, Prince was briefly hospitalized in Moline, Illinois for the flu before returning home to Minnesota. As expected, his loss is being mourned across the globe. Nashville’s own have joined in celebrating the star’s memory. Check out their sweet messages below.
