Country music entertainer Cole Swindell’s hit song “You Should Be Here” certainly struck an emotional chord with country music fans and the Georgia native has recorded another song in honor his father who passed away in 2013.
“Dad’s Old Number” was written by Jessi Alexander alongside Chase McGill with the star in mind and will be included on Swindell’s upcoming third album. The artist told Taste of Country that this song is “just gonna rip people’s hearts out.” Get out the tissues!
“I’ve been through that,” Cole admitted. “You lose people and you still have their phone number in your phone and it’s hard not to dial them up even though you do it anyway just to see who’s got it.” This album sure does seem to provide a roller coaster of relatable emotions!
Cole’s upcoming album will also feature a song inspired by 90’s country, which he’d love to perform a duet with a 90’s female vocalist. The record will also include “Reason To Drink,” which is the name of the singer’s current tour alongside Lauren Alaina and Chris Janson.
