The I’m Comin’ Over song and album were released in 2015 as Chris Young‘s 5th studio album. Young feels this album will be a departure from what his fans are use to, which feels right for him. “Making this record, it just feels different,” Young said.
“Nothing changed for the sake of change. It changed because it was the right way to go. This is the first time I’ve co-produced. Half the songs on the record were written by me, Corey (Crowder) and Josh (Hoge). That became the nucleus of this record, and that was really different for me.”
The 11-track album will feature duets with Vince Gill and Cassadee Pope. You can see the song-list below:
“Heartbeat” – Chris Young, Corey Crowder, Josh Hoge
“I’m Comin’ Over” – Chris Young, Corey Crowder, Josh Hoge
“Think Of You” (Duet with Cassadee Pope) – Chris Young, Corey Crowder, Josh Hoge,
“You Do The Talkin’” – Cary Barlowe, Corey Crowder, Liz Rose
“I Know A Guy” – Benjy Davis, Brett Tyler
“Alone Tonight” – Chris Young, Corey Crowder, Josh Hoge,
“Sunshine Overtime” – Chris Young, Corey Crowder, Jeremy Stover,
“Sober Saturday Night” (feat. Vince Gill) – Chris Young, Brad Warren, Brett Warren
“Underdogs” – Chris Young, Corey Crowder, Josh Hoge
“Callin’ My Name” – Chris Young, Corey Crowder, Jonathan Singleton
“What If I Stay” – Chris Young, Johnny Bulford, Josh Hoge
The theme of the album is love: the lack and abundance of it. Many of the tracks feature the idea of falling in or out of love and the actions that go along with that.
“I think love — or the lack of it — is easily relatable for everybody,” Young told Rolling Stone.
“There’s always other [topics], as least for me as a songwriter. There’s a summer song on this record and different things, for sure, but falling in love and falling out of love — trying to decide whether you’re in or out of it, all that stuff — is really easily relatable for people. I’ve definitely lived my share of love songs and breakup songs.”
Young’s upcoming I’m Comin’ Over tour with Eric Paslay and Clare Dunn kicks off October 22nd in Savannah, Georgia, wrapping up December 5th in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

I’m Comin’ Over Lyrics
We say goodbye, see you around
We turn our backs then turn back around
We break up, we make up and we make love
We can’t seem to let go girl
So I’m comin’ over
Runnin’ every red light
To Hell with the closure
Save it for another time
Try not to think about you
But it ain’t workin’
Why put out a fire when it’s still burnin’
Just when I think movin’ on is gettin’ closer
I’m comin’ over
I’m all alone, but you’re on my phone
Tellin’ me you miss me and that you’re at home
Who knows what we are in the mornin’
All I know is I want you
So I’m comin’ over
Runnin’ every red light
To Hell with the closure
Save it for another time
Try not to think about you
But it ain’t workin’
Why put out a fire when it’s still burnin’
Just when I think movin’ on is gettin’ closer
I’m comin’ over
Oh I’m comin’ over
Yeah we said that we’re done and I know that it’s late
But you already know, I’m on my way
I’m comin’ over
Runnin’ every red light
To Hell with the closure
Save it for another time
Try not to think about you
But it ain’t workin’
Why put out a fire that’s burnin’
I’m comin’ over
Runnin’ every red light
To Hell with the closure
Save it for another time
Try not to think about you
But it ain’t workin’
Why put out a fire when it’s still burnin’
Just when I think movin’ on is gettin’ closer
I’m comin’ over
Oh I’m comin’ over
