Chris Young recently welcomed a new pup into his life that he's hoping to eventually take on the road with him. More here.
Country music singer-songwriter Chris Young is gearing up for an exciting 2018. For a large part of the year, the “I’m Comin’ Over” singer will be on the road for the biggest tour he has ever embarked on in his career. To keep him company while on the road, Chris has welcomed a new puppy into his life!
Chris’ sister, Dorothy, definitely won the award for ‘Best Christmas Gift Ever’ when she surprised him with the sweet German Shepherd puppy for Christmas. Chris named the little guy “Porter,” but admitted he might be a little too young for life on the road right now.
“He’s only about five weeks old, so he’s still with his mom for a little while yet,” Chris revealed to Taste of Country Nights. “But I will definitely have him out once we get him trained up. He will be a road dog.”
Chris had been talking about wanting a furry four legged friend for some time.
“Growing up in my family, we always had animals, always had dogs and cats. I’m kinda at a point now where I feel like … the yard and the house, and I’ve got enough people that can help me take care of an animal,” Chris shared. “A dog’s a lot of responsibility, especially when you travel a lot, so I was settled to the point of going, ‘I really do want a dog,’ and my sister kinda overheard. She started asking all my friends, ‘What kind of dog has he said he wanted?’ So she surprised me this Christmas.”
Dorothy is for sure ‘Sister of the Year!’
Yes, Porter has his very own Instagram account that fans can follow. Check it out here!
