It’s pretty obvious that Chris Stapleton is a supremely talented musician, but’s he’s also a stellar human being. The award show-dominating country music phenom recently returned to his small hometown of Paintsville, Kentucky and made a huge lasting, impact on youth in the area. Stapleton gifted this old high school with a brand-new outdoor stage and a generous donation of $57,000 in brand-new musical instruments. While he was visiting his humble roots, the crooner also performed two free concerts in his alma mater’s gym.
Stapleton feels strongly about paying it forward, “To be here in the hometown, getting to help the school out and the kids out and the community out, that was the most obvious thing for me to do.”
With music programs being cut in so many school districts across the country, it’s truly awesome to see a program being given the means to flourish. Music has a such a positive impact on students’ academic performance and personal growth— Bravo to Stapleton and Ram Trucks for helping out a worthy cause.
