Kentucky native Chris Stapleton will hold a free concert on March 24th at Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, Kentucky starting at 7 PM. Ram Trucks announced the concert at noon today and all the free tickets were were snapped up by 2:45 PM— now there’s a wait list.
Stapleton grew up in Staffordsville, which is located just outside of Paintsville. He also graduated from Johnson Central High School, so this event is truly a homecoming for the country music phenom. Interesting note, the bearded musician attended Vanderbilt University where he studied engineering for just one year. As much as engineers are needed in society, we’re all pretty darn glad he opted for a much different career path.
The well-known truck brand is sponsoring the totally free concert as part of its ongoing relationship with the award-winning and critically acclaimed artist. The partnership began in conjunction with the release of Stapleton’s Traveller album in 2015 and the artist, who is a Ram truck owner himself, appears in a series of episodic videos telling stories of real Ram truck owners’ experiences travelling in their trucks.
Sure, you may be missing Chris’ Paintsville gig— but he did announce a slew of new concert dates via his Facebook Page. Now that’s something to celebrate.
