Chris Stapleton's performance of "Broken Halos" at the 2017 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony is certainly something to behold! Enjoy it here.
Country music hit-maker Chris Stapleton totally nailed his performance of “Broken Halos” during the 2017 CMT Artists of the Year event. The star-studded audience was brought to their feet and even Jason Aldean and Keith Urban recognized the incredible talent on display!
Of course the song is very emotional, and the Kentucky native absolutely nails every word, making the song hit hard in the ears of the listeners. Here’s what Stapleton said about the song in a recent interview, “This is a sort of new song, an old song for me, but it’s a song about people who have passed away before their time. I recorded this on a day where a friend of mine passed away from pancreatic cancer. He was the same age as me. We played little league together and all that. He was 38. This is for my buddy Mike.”
The song was released on April 14th, and served as the lead single from his album From A Room: Volume 1. As of this month the track has already sold more than 175,000 copies!

Seen my share of broken halos
Folded wings that used to fly
They’ve all gone wherever they go
Broken halos that used to shine
Angels come down from the heavens
Just to help us on our way
Come to teach us, they they leave us
And they find some other soul to save
Seen my share of broken halos
Folded wings that used to fly
They’ve all gone wherever they go
Broken halos that used to shine
Broken halos that used to shine
Don’t go looking for the reasons
Don’t go asking Jesus why
We’re not meant to know the answers
They belong to the by and by
They belong to the by and by
Sen my share of broken halos
Folded wings that used to fly
They’ve all gone wherever they go
Broken halos that used to shine
Broken halos that used to shine
Broken halos that used to shine
Broken halos that used to shine
