So what does country music star and fitness guru Carrie Underwood listen to during a workout? Well, the answer may surprise you.
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood doesn’t play around when it comes to her health and fitness habits. So what does the “Dirty Laundry” singer crank up when she’s knocking out a workout? A little rock n’ roll.
“Kickstart My Heart” [by Mötley Crüe], it’s a good one to run to; it’s a good pace. I don’t know! Just anything — anything hard and loud. I think a lot of the time I just [open up] Apple Music and pick “Rock Workout” and just let it go,” Carrie disclosed to Hello Giggles.

Back in 2015, the country star launched her own athleisure brand, CALIA by Carrie Underwood, and recently released her spring/summer 2017 collection. The “Bahia” collection is inspired by travel and the Caribbean and touts strappy details, breathable mesh panels, bright colors, and convenient built-in pockets for your phone.
Though Carrie’s strong physique and killer legs serve as many people’s fitness goals, the star hasn’t completely given up her go-to comfort food group for the sake of dietary perfection.
“Carbs — whatever carbs I can get. Pasta, or bready kinds of things,” Carrie shared. “Also, [one thing that] hurts my veganism is that I love cheese. That’s my downfall. Everything else, I can give up. And I do go through spells of saying no more dairy, no more dairy. But yeah, savory, carb-y, heavy things. Naughty things.”
Carrie’s interview with Hello Giggles also provided some hope for all of us working to improve our fitness levels— Carrie wasn’t always an exercise guru. Back in her American Idol days, she wasn’t on the fitness bandwagon yet but started noticing that her metabolism was changing.
“But once you hit your 20s, you notice your metabolism starts to slow down and it’s like, wait, I can’t have an entire pizza in one night? I noticed that I didn’t feel as good as I should feel, so I made myself a little bit more of a priority. I just got into working out more, being more active, and trying to make better choices in the kitchen — and I started feeling better,” Carrie explained.
While diet and exercise do take commitment and can sometimes feel a little redundant, we like Carrie’s technique of literally rocking out her workout. Worth a try!
