Carrie Underwood‘s next album Storyteller is not due out for another two weeks, however the singer is teasing fans with the release of two album tracks.
“Smoke Break” (listen below) was the first track off the album and featured Underwood singing about the way life makes you want to just step back and take a break. She said that the track was a reference to her new role as a mom and how the job can be a bit overwhelming at times.
The next track, which Underwood released yesterday (Oct. 9), is the romantic song “Heartbeat” and it tells the story of the immense love that Underwood has for her husband and father of her son, Mike Fisher.
“Tonight I wanna drive so far and only find static on the radio / We can’t see those city lights and I like the way you look in firefly glow / Saying everything without making a sound / A cricket choir in the background / Underneath the harvest moon / Standing on your shoes in my bare feet / Dancing to the rhythm of your heartbeat.”
It’s easy to see the love between the happy couple in this sweet tune.
Fans get “Heartbeat” (and “Smoke Break“) when they pre-order Storyteller on iTunes. She called yesterday “new music Friday” on Twitter, leaving open the possibility that one more new song might be revealed next Friday, before the Oct. 23 release.
