Country music superstar Carrie Underwood has always been refreshingly honest about the roller coaster that many of us can relate to— parenthood. She recently admitted to Buzzfeed that she still struggles with one aspect of toddler mealtime with 2-year-old son Isaiah, sometimes wasting perfectly good food.
“I feel like one of my biggest problems is not making myself eat his food he doesn’t eat,” she shared. “I hate wasting food and I hate wasting water. If I’m going to put it on my plate, I’m going to eat it all. I make enough just for us and I don’t ever want to waste it. I’ll eat leftovers for a week because I hate wasting food.”
We’ve all been there— forcing down snubbed ‘kid fare’ just so it doesn’t end up in the trash or feeling guilty about dumping it. It’s a real and constant battle. Carrie is a vegetarian and very mindful about nutrition, so she might not be able to always eat all of her little one’s extras.
Speaking of little Isaiah, look at him smooching his doting dad, Mike Fisher.
Carrie captioned the father-son cuteness with a special Father’s Day message, “And to Mike, Isaiah is so blessed to have you as his dad. He wants to do everything you do and go where you go. You are an incredible example of what a father should be…patient, kind, loving and so much more. You are never afraid to hug and kiss him or be silly with him. He knows he is loved beyond measure and that you will always be there for him…I always knew that you would be an amazing father and you prove me right every day. We love you!!!”
Mike just wrapped up his 17th season in the NHL and Carrie is currently focusing on songwriting while she enjoys some quality time off the road. Maybe with Mike’s schedule being a little less hectic now, she can pawn off Isaiah’s leftovers on her hubby…?
